The NetModeler Design Suite is comprised of three planning modules: RingPlanner, MeshPlanner and HybridPlanner. Each of the three modules are supported by a sophisticated card-level vendor equipment modeling library. Modules of the NetModeler will allow both network operators and network equipment vendors to analyze and compare ring, mesh and hybrid ring/mesh network designs. NetModeler also comes with a complete Developer’s Tool Kit, including API’s and a dynamic development environment for future client extension. Key innovations of NetModeler include a card-level vendor equipment library, equipment configurator, multiple period planning, capital expenditure budgeting, revenue modeling, and our trademark solution algorithms capable of solving 2,000 node planning problem in less than five minutes!
NetModeler’s MeshPlanner module is used by clients to demonstrate the significant economic advantages and bandwidth efficiencies of implementing optical layer mesh topology networks. Through the innovative NetModeler equipment modeling library, users can rapidly design, configure and deploy many types of optical switches and DWDM transport systems. MeshPlanner even plans for the dynamic “intermediate” grooming of STS-1 or VT 1.5 granular traffic in the middle or core of the network, considering various levels of constraints on vendor equipment at each network site and characteristics of individual demands.
NetModeler’s RingPlanner module is used by clients to evaluate the revenue generation and cost-savings benefits implementing SONET/SDH ring topology networks. Through the NetModeler equipment modeling library, users can rapidly design, configure and implement many types of ADM’s, SONET/SDH switches and DWDM transport systems, suitable for metro, regional and long haul network capacity planning. With this proprietary software module, users can identify the capital and OPEX impact of a ring topology architecture, and better determine where and when to purchase facilities and equipment given their budgetary constraints.
NetModeler’s HybridPlanner module goes beyond the basic “network partitioning” solution that our competitors offer. HybridPlanner can be used by both network operators and networking equipment vendors to automate the selection, implementation and configuration of interconnected ring and mesh topologies in a single network. Like the other modules of NetModeler, HybridPlanner allows users to quickly analyze and compare vendor-specific equipment in terms of cost, revenue generation, central office floor space and power consumption.
AccessPlanner is used by network service providers and equipment vendors to rapidly plan, evaluate, and optimize the design of backhaul networks to carry cellular or PCS traffic from base stations to mobile switching offices. Our AccessPlanner software tool integrates proprietary optimization techniques into a state-of-the-art decision support tool to allow users to identify optimal hubbing and interconnect strategies, as well as where and when to place switching and multiplexing equipment.
SwitchPlanner is used by network service providers and equipment vendors to determine where and when to add Switch Modules (SMs) to Mobile Switching Offices (MSOs) in order to meet growing demand requirements.
DarkFiberPlanner is used by network service providers and equipment vendors to determine where to purchase dark fiber resources that are available in the ground by adding electronics equipment at the ends. Our DarkFiberPlanner software tool integrates proprietary optimization techniques into a state-of-the-art decision support tool to allow users to identify where and when to place dark fiber and vendor-specific multiplexing equipment, versus where and when to allocate demands and route traffic through LEC facilities.
